Stories about Sabbat Gangrel "playing pet", pretending to be a poor street cat or something so a compassionate human will take them home. And pay with carnage in their house, she assumes, but the point of this is, they seem to be able to pretend to be normal animals for at least one night. Rejecting the food probably won't be that much of an issue then.
She goes back and forth on this long enough for Corwin to get up and walk towards the house in question, so that any third option seems to be forfeit anyway.
