"It makes it worse when people see things that don't make sense," Corwin explains, running his fingers over the spot one more time, self-consciously, to make sure he's satisfied it's actually closed. "I am sorry about the creepy thing. I can't help it, it's just the way I'm made, so I just try to be as nonthreatening and nonscary as possible. It helps a little, sometimes."
