He's in the kitchen at that point, puttering around a new concoction over one of his bunson burners, but he looks up at the knock, and blinks in confusion. When did he let a mortal girl into his house...? He isn't wearing his sunglasses, or his hood, and his eyes are obvious and he's pretty sure there's a tear in his neck-- which he promptly claps a hand over-- and he's on the verge of a panic until she speaks.
