Corwin looks vaguely baffled by that response. "Not very big." But he's going to stop short of suggesting they might not actually be people. He doesn't like to give people that idea to work with if he's not sure of them being not human, themselves. That doesn't leave him much to work with, though, so he finally settles on: "I suppose they're just very lucky."
