Hajime's eyes might have gone wide when his wrist was grabbed if he were a normal human with proper expressive capabilities, but the demon is so surprised, he has flat-out forgotten to emote. His face is oddly slack. He has picked a fight with someone who is, as far as Hajime can tell, very much not human.

There is no apology, and Hajime is struggling to free himself from the man-mountain's grasp. Any further attacks would involve even more use of his power, which would probably not be a good idea. (Even if he would totally triumph in that scenario, he tells himself.) He's pushed things enough as it is.
